TINGSTED \u2013 a work created in collaboration<\/h3>\n

The Danish designer Rasmus B\u00e6kkel Fex created the work TINGSTED in collaboration with woodturners from all of Denmark.<\/p>\n

Going up against the complete absence of woodturning in contemporary Danish design, Rasmus B\u00e6kkel Fex has reintroduced the craft in recent years, working intently to find new modes of expression for Danish chair design.<\/p>\n

In 2019, Trapholt invited woodturners from all of Denmark to create a work in collaboration with Rasmus B\u00e6kkel Fex, who had a vision for a huge installation. He set a specific task: the installation needed 1,200 sticks of ash to be shaped by woodturners.<\/p>\n

Each stick reflects the individual participant\u2019s skill, personality and history, making it a unique piece of a larger context.<\/p>\n

Together, the great efforts of many people have produced a work that no-one could have created alone.<\/p>\n

Tingsted <\/em>was created with funding from the Region of Southern Denmark.<\/p>\n
