Trapholt Collect 2023

Every year, Trapholt acquires and receives new, interesting, and engaging works for the museum’s collection of modern art, crafts, and design. With Trapholt Collect 2023, the works that have become part of the museum’s collection over the past year are presented, connected to Trapholt’s existing collection, which includes art, design, and crafts from the 20th century to the present.

Trapholt has a heightened focus on the sensory and experiential potential of painting in the contemporary era as a unique art form. The painting collection at Trapholt reflects a wide range within the history of abstract, concrete, and figurative art. Today, the museum has an increased focus on art that appeals to us in a present and sensory way—art that touches and moves us both physically and mentally.

Experience works by, among others, Anne Torpe, Jes Fomsgaard, Malene Landgreen, Louise Hindsgavl, Kaspar Bonnén, and Søren Martinsen. Also, revisit the collaborative work Dataspejlet by Astrid Skibsted.
